Technical Info
RenaiStone casting compound solidifies by a process similar to a natural chemical sedimentary rock formation. The rock forming mineral constituents develop into a supersaturated solution during mixing and subsequent heating and through a precipitation and condensation reaction a monolithic agglomerated stone develops. This process is catalyzed so it is fast and it requires relatively low temperature. The rock forming mineral constituents are: SiO2, FeO, Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, CaO2, Al2O3 and a mixture of Metal Silicates and carbonates. None of the constituents are cementatious by themselves. Only when they put together in our proprietary formula, do they form non soluble tectosilicates
The second important constituent of the RenaiStone system is the special sealer. It is made of a silicon resin and chemically binds with the stone make the stone water repellant and gives it a textured look. These two parts constitute the base of the RenaiStone system. The development of it took several years and hundreds and hundreds of experiments. In our research pipe line there are many exciting new products that further our goal of a “Renaissance of Stone” in decoration and function.
We hope you will enjoy creating with RenaiStone as much as we enjoyed creating it.
